Missoula’s First Friday, November 5, 2010

First Friday is gallery night in downtown Missoula. Numerous art galleries and museums stay open late and host openings of new exhibits. The mood is always festive (no matter what the weather is like). Best of all, the heart of downtown Missoula is a short drive from our bed and breakfast Missoula.

On Friday, November 5, 2010, Montana artist Jim Poor will be at the Missoula Art Museum. All are welcome to drop by the museum to view six galleries of art between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and to join Jim Poor on a gallery tour at 7 p.m.. This is your chance to discover “why he doesn’t separate representational and abstract notions”. You may never look at traditional landscape the same way again. First Fridays at the Missoula Art Museum include wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. It’s a great place to unwind after a day exploring Missoula or the surrounding area.
There are several excellent restaurants near the art museum; whet the appetite with art and satisfy it with food. Sushi aficionados will love Sushi Hana, which serves contemporary and traditional Japanese food – not just fish. The Higgins Alley is said to have some of the finest Italian food in town; try the prosciutto rolls. No trip to Missoula would be complete without at least a drink in The Old Post, a Missoula staple for more than twenty years. It’s a great place to go after dinner, for live music starts every Friday night at 10 p.m..
Our Missoula bed and breakfast currently has openings for the weekend of November 5, 2010. We look forward to seeing you.
