Missoula Art Events Upcoming

Missoula has a thriving arts community and opportunities abound for those who wish to participate in an artistic experience of some kind.  If taking a class is not on your personal menu, then you will enjoy browsing through the various shops as the holiday season approaches.  Check out some of these interesting events and take advantage of them during your visit to Missoula!

Open Figure Drawing – The Missoula Art Museum (335 N. Pattee St.) Sundays at 3 p.m. $5-$7
This session provides artists an opportunity draw from a live model in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Participants must be 18 years or older.
Relief Printmaking – Zootown Arts Community Center (235 N. 1st St. W) Last Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. FREE
You are invited to learn from the staff at ZACC the basic introductions to relief printmaking. Pull a print you have designed yourself and use our public press. Speak with printshop staff about making prints from home through an alternative processes. Pre-register (406-549-7555 ) as space is limited.
Advent Calendar Crafting for Mom and Dad – Walking Stick Toys ( 829 S Higgins Ave) November 28, 7 p.m. $10-$12
Craft a holiday treasure that will delight your family. If you love advent calendars, join the staff at Walking Stick Toys to craft your very own handmade advent to share with your family. Snacks and beverages provided.
Alan Kesselheim and Thomas Lee Booksigning – Fact and Fiction bookstore (220 N. Higgins) November 28, 7 p.m. FREE
Alan Kesselheim and Thomas Lee, authors of Montana: Real Place, Real People will be presenting and signing copies of their book Wednesday night.
Holiday Wreath Workshop – Fort Missoula Native Plant Gardens (120 Hickory St.) November 29, 5:30 p.m. $5- $10
Learn how to make your own wreath frame, cut and attach boughs and add decorative elements. Bonus: learn how to identify trees by their foliage. You will create a medium wreath during this class and leave with the skills to make many more at home.
The Missoula Winter Market (2036 Mullan Road) includes a variety of craft and food vendors.  From jewelry and mittens to Hot Flying Saucer Sandwiches, you’ll find something very fun!  Open every Friday 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. through April 27th.
