Big Hole National Battlefield

The Big Hole National Battlefield commemorates the events of August 9, 1877. That day, American soldiers opened fire on a camp of sleeping Nez Pierce. A day later, almost 90 Nez Pierce were dead.

Learn about this event, and visit the National Park that now stands there. It makes a good day trip from our Missoula bed and breakfast.
